LA Times : Robert Rodriguez works on "Predator"

Now whats so exciting about this news? Well, let me tell you, I skipped Aliens versus Predator: Requiem ( AVP2 for technicality's sake) for all the right reasons. (Did'nt even get the pirated version AND Never did like the Predalien they kept selling to us casual movie goers.)

Now Robert Rodriguez, one of the better directors in this genre (gore, suspense). Here's the actual news from Superherohype.com (which was then lifted from the Los Angeles Times)

"The last few months have been a-buzzin' with announcements regarding Predators, the latest entry in the 20th Century Fox franchise that's being overseen by Robert Rodriguez (Planet Terror) and directed by Nimrod Antal (Vacancy).

On a collision course for the summer of 2010, Rodriguez explains how Texas is playing a tremendous part in the production. No, not the plot. This entry is set on the Predator home world. As reported earlier, Predators will lens at Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios and the surrounding area.

"It'll be a mix," he tells the Times. "A lot of location sets and some green scene. There's a lot of different places in Texas I have in mind, and we have a great rebate thing there now, only 60% has to be shot in Texas. We're scouting for locations now. You can find some alien landscapes in Texas for sure. And with the right augmentation, you can make anywhere look like anywhere now."

There isn't too much new in the Times piece that wasn't already discussed at AICN, but give the article a look here. Rodriguez is appearing at Comic-Con this month, no doubt we'll be hearing much more about his plans for the Predator soon."

Don't forget, Rodriguez directed "Planet Terror" which featured Rose McGowan as a stripper with a rifle for a leg.
