Review: Ninja Assassin

Starring: Rain, Sho Kosugi, Directed by: James McTeigue

The Ninja Movie to assassinate all other ninja movie.

There are a lot of things that may just need a little polishing in the story but it was a real great romp. Rogue ninja Raizo (Rain) has been waging a one-man war against his former clan of ninjas. Meanwhile, ninja researcher Miko is suddenly caught deep in a web of intrigue and murder as the governments using the ninja clans chase her down. It's up to the joint forces of Raizo and Mika to stop the ninja assassination once and for all.

I give this a total of 4 1/2 stars. The movie itself is filled with lots of eye candies. From swordfights, shunpo, shurikens and Raizo's bad-ass weapon. The fight scene in the warehouse was nice and the dialogues and witty banter between Rain and co-star Naomi Harris is also a breathe of fresh air between the bloodshed.

The sad thing about the whole movie was the fact that there were a lot of plot holes that were dropped in favor of those frickin' awesome fight scenes. There were also a few dragging scenes as well. And finally, the BULLET TIME!!!

I really dont know if I should be happy because I'm seeing a Wachowski film with bullet time. It's become a trademark for them that it kinda sucks to see those things over and over again. Oh pardon me, I should call it SHURIKEN TIME.

Overall, if your over 18 years old and you can stomach senseless violence, then drag your ass out of your chair and pile up in cinemas.
