Marvel Reveals Plans for Battle Scars

Marvel has revealed new details for their upcoming Battle Scars titles in the wake of the events that have transpired in Fear Itself.

It seems like there will be definite changes in the roster for the multiple Avengers teams that has been running around the Marvel U including what seems to be a guy with purple sticks/ katanas running around with the team.

Obviously Thor is not on the team for some unknown reasons. For all we know, the guy could be dead by the end of Fear Itself.

Eye of Agamotto Easter Egg Spotted in Thor

During one of the Asgardian armory scenes in Marvel Studios' Thor where the "Casket of Ancient Winters" has been placed, one distinctly specific item that caught a lot of attention was Doctor Strange's "Eye of Agamotto" lying around the armory....

Marvel Select's Thor and Loki

Here are sample images from Marvel Select's upcoming Thor and Loki figures.

I really do miss Thor's helmet...

And while we won't be missing Loki's classic helmet, it seems like this version of Loki isn't devious looking enough.

What say you?

Thor Related Statues from Bowen

Thor Reborn looks really great. We really have to thank to cool upgrade on his armor, the whole chain mail looks really so "astig"...

Ulik on the otherhand is ready to bash any and all takers. And my gosh, look at those brass knuckles....

I wonder if they ever released an Enchantress statue???

I’M YOUR MAN, Part 3 (of 3)
DOCTOR BONG? Are you SERIOUS?! Wow, this whole team up with the former Captain America to fight terrorists has really gone off the rails and Steve Rogers -- the REAL Steve Rogers – isn’t happy about it. But that’s okay because Deadpool has a plan to make everything right again. Well, not really a plan -- more like an idea, really -- but mostly just some random one-liners and A WHOLE LOTTA GUNS.

Jonathan Hickman to take on Ultimate Comics Thor

Jonathan Hickman is continuing to wow us with his choice of titles to work on. Not only are we getting some of the best Fantastic Four books we've seen in recent years, were also seeing exceptional work for his mini SHIELD which delves into Marvel's secret history.

Now we've got exceptional news from SDCC.

Jonathan Hickman will be writing ULTIMATE COMICS THOR

The art chores will be handled by Carlos Pacheco and will delve around the eons of time from Thor and Loki's childhood all the way to the hippie Thor we've seen during Mark Millar's Ultimates to what he has become in Jeph Loeb's New Ultimates book.

(Papa Odin together with Hunin and Munin)

(Some wicked redesigns for Loki, who apparently was heavy on BDSM before discovering Armani suits.)

HEIMDALL

(Im betting this is Volstagg)

(Fandrall)

(Hogun the Grim)

The 4 issue miniseries will also tell the story of the Ragnarok cycle which will involve Nazis.

It really appeals to me that Marvel is starting to cash in on everything related to the Norse god of Thunder and for good measure.

Thor (Modern)

SIEGE # 1 Scans....

So, SIEGE is finally here. I just dont know where to start this short review.

Well for starters, its written by Brian Michael Bendis with art chores coming from Young Guns member Olivier Coipel (who previously worked on Thor with JMS)

It's been much talked about and hyped about as the end of Norman Osborn's so-called "Dark Reign" and frankly, I could really care less. The problem with the Bendis led mid-events are the fact that whoever's top dog appears in over 40 to 75 comic books from Marvel.

It happened to Stark, and it happened to Osborn. There were more misses than hits and it's been dragging on for awhile.

I was never really planning on getting SIEGE because of the mere fact that it was another event. And I am so sick and tired of reading event books that do little - to no changes whatsoever.

So going back to SIEGE, there were lots of loose threads that Bendis tried so hard to write and finish off.

If theres anything that I am really hoping SIEGE delivers is that it TRULY brings back Thor, Captain America and Iron Man after several years away from each other.

Bendis also plans on "finally" unveiling the secret of the Sentry (which was really great under Paul Jenkins, not Bendis)

So going back to the story itself, one of the Warriors Three, Volstagg managed to kill hundreds if not thousands of people during a random encounter with some of the Hood's stooges.

Unknown to many, this was only a part of Loki and Osborn's schemes to seal Osborn's so-called control over the world.

Ares and the Sentry, together with their DARK AVENGERS teammates storm Asgard in retaliation for the deaths in Soldier's Field.

During the initial attack, the Sentry does a DRAGON BALL and slowly destroys Asgard from the ground up.

When Thor finally appears to help his Asgardian brothers, he gets a sound beating (which I still can't accept and understand... Okay, so maybe Sentry may just beat Thor now, but the Thor I knew was capable of putting up a decent fight against the Golden Avenger.)

This later catches the attention of Captain America Steve Rogers. For people looking for our favorite Avenger Iron Man, well, by the story starts, it seems like Stark Disassembled just finished and is well on the way to a full recovery.

If theres anything that redeems this book, I'd probably say that it was the art. Having a great inker and colorist on your side is such a great thing. Compared to his previous work on HOUSE OF M, i'd probably say this was WAAAAAAAAAYYYY better.

Who Will Save Tony Stark?

And things are setting up pretty nicely for SIEGE. Its an interesting cover as well simply because, all three of these guys appeared recently in the pages of INVINCIBLE IRON MAN. Just before Norman Osborn "killed" Tony Stark. Can't wait for this.
