Uncanny X-Force # 1

Here's the preview for Uncanny X-Force # 1 by Sam Humphries and Ron Garney.
x52 x61 x12 x42 x32
Around this part, I'm totally liking what I'm seeing especially since this is the first time in years that we've seen Storm's classic Mohawk look.

Jim Lee Cover for Justice League # 11

A Villain's Journey continues!

Regardless of what the nega-fanboys are saying about the book, I'm totally enjoying every issue that comes out from this New 52 title. Hopefully the rumors are not true and Jim Lee stays with the book. Although I'd happily hand over that statement if he finally decides to do a rebooted WildC.A.T.S. book

Wolverine and Cyclops have the Talk in Wolverine and the X-Men # 10

That awesome moment when Wolverine and Cyclops decide to have "THE TALK" about their beliefs after Schism.

And surprisingly, this happened after the Avengers storm the beaches of Utopia and the eventual escape of Hope Summers from the island.

Anyway, Wolverine and the X-Men # 10 did not have a lot of action but we've got to hand it to Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo to deliver a book that's still entertaining.

Captain America is AN AVENGER

YEHEY! It is Bucky that will be joining the Earth's Mightiest Heroes together with Thor and Iron Man.

Plus do I see John Romita Junior's art? Solid.

I'm also impressed with I AMN AN AVENGER as a tagline.

Spoiler Review: Green Lantern # 50

The Geoff Johns helmed Blackest Night continues in the 50th issue of Green Lantern. When we last left of the power rangers, they all learn the identity of their newest recruits. As well as the zombie-infestation of the city with no fear, Coast City. Nekron together with the rest of the zombified Superman and other metahumans are getting ready for the final stage of the Blackest Night.

There are bickering amongst the new lanterns such as between Lex Luthor and Larfleeze.

In this issue alone, Hal Jordan (a) kisses Star Sapphire Carol Ferris (b) bickers with former mentor Sinestro over their rings' dubious selection of bearers (were looking at you Scarecrow and Lex) (c) Saves Ganthet and Sayd from the literal jaws of Black Lantern Crispus Allen / Spectre and (d) frees the Parallax entity from imprisonment and becomes Parallax once more.

The issue is a solid action issue and deliverrs quite a hefty character plot development. It's also great to see the interaction between the new Lanterns together with their mentors/ seniors such as Mera and Atrocitus. Mera's blood puking on her zombie baby was quite horrific but cool as well as the gibberish "discussion" between the Atom and Indigo (with Ray saying "bug eyed monster").

One time I was in a discussion with ComicKolektorPhilippines founder Tons about how Blackest Night would end and we had our solid idea on whats happening and how it will end. But seeing the recent developments mid-way, I must say we were stumped and dead wrong. We dont have any clue whatsoever on how this is going to end and I am thoroughly enjoying that fact.

Thank you Geoff Johns and company for this. And happy 50th issue Hal.

Kitty Pryde Comes Back to the X-Men

Its just sad that its too soon but I like Kitty Pryde, I like her character and I like her powers. The Collossus - Kitty tandem is a great thing to read in Uncanny.

Thank you Matt Fraction for bringing her back. Thank you Joss Whedon for her brave sacrifice.

Iron Man's New Armor

Marvel just released the new armor for Iron Man post "Stark Disassembled"

According to Newsarama,

Overnight at Marvel.com, the House of Ideas showed off their latest: an all-new armor for the metal Avenger, Iron Man.

This newest iteration of 'ole Shellhead's battle-dress features the familiar Red and Gold color scheme, but a streamlined look and redistribution of colors gives it a unique style.

According to Marvel's piece, the look was co-designed by now longtime Invincible Iron Man writer Matt Fraction and the designer for the Iron Man and Thor movies, Ryan Meinerding. Fraction is quoted as saying, ""The inspiration for the new design came from thinking about a sleeker, leaner, tougher Iron Man. If technology is increasingly getting smaller and lighter it seems like the Iron Man should do the same: ergonomic and aerodynamic."

Marvel does note it will still be Tony Stark in the new armor, and the debut will come in April's Invincible Iron Man #25.

So... what do you think?

JIM LEE Variant for Green Lantern # 50

I missed seeing Jim Lee's art. Whatever happened to All Star Batman and Robin?? I wish they could finish that before getting other projects.

I am proud to say that I'm actually one of the Batfans that appreciate and like ASBR unlike some awful awful internet trolls and comic book ingrates...

Marvel's APRIL 2010 Teaser

It's time to save the world...

This is the new teaser image Marvel has released for an upcoming event involving Galactus, the Infinity Gem and what looks to me like a skull (Lady Death and Thanos perhaps?)

SIEGE # 1 Scans....

So, SIEGE is finally here. I just dont know where to start this short review.

Well for starters, its written by Brian Michael Bendis with art chores coming from Young Guns member Olivier Coipel (who previously worked on Thor with JMS)

It's been much talked about and hyped about as the end of Norman Osborn's so-called "Dark Reign" and frankly, I could really care less. The problem with the Bendis led mid-events are the fact that whoever's top dog appears in over 40 to 75 comic books from Marvel.

It happened to Stark, and it happened to Osborn. There were more misses than hits and it's been dragging on for awhile.

I was never really planning on getting SIEGE because of the mere fact that it was another event. And I am so sick and tired of reading event books that do little - to no changes whatsoever.

So going back to SIEGE, there were lots of loose threads that Bendis tried so hard to write and finish off.

If theres anything that I am really hoping SIEGE delivers is that it TRULY brings back Thor, Captain America and Iron Man after several years away from each other.

Bendis also plans on "finally" unveiling the secret of the Sentry (which was really great under Paul Jenkins, not Bendis)

So going back to the story itself, one of the Warriors Three, Volstagg managed to kill hundreds if not thousands of people during a random encounter with some of the Hood's stooges.

Unknown to many, this was only a part of Loki and Osborn's schemes to seal Osborn's so-called control over the world.

Ares and the Sentry, together with their DARK AVENGERS teammates storm Asgard in retaliation for the deaths in Soldier's Field.

During the initial attack, the Sentry does a DRAGON BALL and slowly destroys Asgard from the ground up.

When Thor finally appears to help his Asgardian brothers, he gets a sound beating (which I still can't accept and understand... Okay, so maybe Sentry may just beat Thor now, but the Thor I knew was capable of putting up a decent fight against the Golden Avenger.)

This later catches the attention of Captain America Steve Rogers. For people looking for our favorite Avenger Iron Man, well, by the story starts, it seems like Stark Disassembled just finished and is well on the way to a full recovery.

If theres anything that redeems this book, I'd probably say that it was the art. Having a great inker and colorist on your side is such a great thing. Compared to his previous work on HOUSE OF M, i'd probably say this was WAAAAAAAAAYYYY better.

David Finch Joins DC Comics

David Finch has been for sometime now, Marvel's most prominent cover artist (ofcourse we had to move on after Michael Turner who was a really outstanding artist).

He was even brightly featured in the annual "MARVEL YOUNG GUNS" booklet about a few years back. And then in a shocking turn of event, we find out that David Finch has moved on to greener pastures, which happens to be DC Comics.

My two cents? The guy's a great artist. But I really feel like he's not really all that. Yeah there was probably hype surrounding the guy, but when you do more covers than interiors, that says a lot.

Hickman And Eaglesham on Fantastic Four

It seems that something big is on the horizon for the FF...

Hickman and Eagleshame are really great on this series. I hope they stay for awhile.

What If Luke Cage Found Mjolnir?

Very classic dialogue there Mr. Cage,

I should use that often...

"By the Gleamin' gates of funky Asgard!"

Hahahaha.

Hilarious.

WTF? RULK AND BANNER??!?!?

What the fuck is going on? Why is Banner in cahoots with the Red Hulk?

And isnt Red Hulk Talbot???

Bring in the Baddies

Okay, so its apparent that we'd be seeing Valkyrie back in the pages of the Ultimate Universe but who is she with?

I know for certain that the Black Knight is with them, as well as the Son of Satan himself, Daimon Hellstromm and Tigra (or it could be Patsy Walker, Hellcat) and then if I'm not mistaken, that would be Luke Cage (or Power Man)
.

I'd probably give them another chance. Yes, that includes Jeph Loeb. Art is great thanks to Frank Cho. (But come on! no ass? That sucks @$$!)

Invincible's Yellow And Blue Costume...

Not a lot of people know this, but I do keep a close following on Image's INVINCIBLE. For one, Mark Grayson really does a great job of being the flawed super hero. Second, its the gratitious gore and out and out beatings and violence thats been a staple in the book. Thirdly, I gush like a fan girl whenever I follow the lovestory between ATOM EVE and INVINCIBLE.

Was Blackest Night 6 Leaked??

I was surprised when a friend told me the whole scenario for this month's issue of "Blackest Night".

According to him there will be new recruits to the 7 color rangers that are part of Earth's heroes. I was surprised for him having this particular info, especially since Blackest Night # 6 wont come out until next week (December 30, 2009).

So after much prodding and a couple of bottles of booze, he finally came clean and told me that he downloaded new stuff from the net and one of the package included the aforementioned Blackest Night ish.

So I had to check it out for myself.

And so there it was, lo and behold, Blackest Night # 6 just waiting to be downloaded.

Well too bad DC, it seems like your new year's eve plans has been jumped. I wonder if the same thing would happen to Marvel's SIEGE which will be coming out around the same time.

And if DC should decide to do some collateral damage, I really believe it's waaaaaaay too late for that.

But knowing the fans, regardless of whether it was leaked or not, people would still go to their LCS on Wednesday (or thursday here in the Philippines) to get the latest ish of this widely fantastic book.

BTW, no spoilers....

Who the hell am I kidding?

here ya go kids!
