Weekly Comic Book Review # 1

The week is almost over and I can certainly understand that there were good stuff that came out and there were bad stuff that came out as well.

This is kinda new to me (posting a huge review section or recommended hits) so please forgive me. I promise to improve this along the way anyhoo.

New Avengers # 49:

Almost there.... But not quite. This issue finally resolves the conflict of whether Luke Cage would get his baby back after the Skrull Jarvis kidnapping in the ending of Secret Invasion.

We find out what happens to the Wrecker's Crowbar (Cage actually kept his word and stash the crowbar in his room in Avengers Tower)

This issue is also a seed for the upcoming clash between the New Avengers and the Dark Avengers (led by Norman Osborn)

Great Stuff!

----------------------------

Thunderbolts # 128

The great Norman Osborn has set himself up as the numero uno police enforcer for the world after killing the Skrull Queen Veranke in national TV. Now he has outlawed Iron Man, and dismantled S.H.I.E.L.D. changing it to H.A.M.M.E.R. and has assembled the Dark Avengers in the wake of the previous crisis.

Meanwhile, the Thunderbolts has a new roster. Led by the second Black Widow Yelena Belova, the iredeemable Ant-Man and the nefarious Ghost, the Thunderbolts are doing Osborn's dirty job. But will they survive the madness of the Green Goblin? What the hell?

I give this 3 1/2 out of 5

------------------------------------

Miss Marvel # 35

There is no Miss Marvel. Instead we have Carol Danvers. Now on the run from the United States Government she swore to protect, Carol is now dealing with the death of the the recently resurfaced Captain Marvel.

The Church of Hala has suffered a terrible loss as well. As several members committed suicide in the name of the fallen Kree Warrior. Hundreds flock to the church including the new Captain Marvel Noh-Varr of the Dark Avengers.

Dramatic stuff. Good read.

4 out of 5

-------------------------

Astounding Wolfman # 12

Really have no idea why I picked this up but I like Robert Kirkman's work (Invincible DA BEST!)

I will try to find the first 11 issues and ill put up an honest to goodness review on the series itself.

-------------------------------------

X-Factor # 38

The second baby post Messiah Complex has been born... and by the end of the issue dies.

Why? What? How?

I wont spoil. You have to read this!

In a single issue, Madrox pines for his baby, feels happy about his baby and mourns for the loss of his and Siryn's child.

5 out 5. (Probably 6 if you ask me!)

-----------------------------------------

Young X-Men # 10

After throwing down with the Y-Men, and finding out that new member Ink is not a mutant, The Young X-Men must deal with

(a) CIPHER - The mysterious new mutant that has saved the team's butt several times. Who is she , where is she from and who vouches for her is settled in this issue.

(b) DUST - Will she find help in the personage of Donald Pierce, the mastermind of the new team's inception? And has she finally come to terms with the fact that she's dying? Will Pierce save her from this cruel fate?
