The notebook I loved and hated

It's back to school time again. Traffic will be back to normal. Roads congested once again.

Pag pumunta ka sa National Bookstore, Gibson's o kahit Booksale, you'll see throngs sorting, fidgeting and looking for the best buys for their kids.

- Pencils (na kapag low class, napuputol agad ang lead)

- Papers (na either maiiwan sa bahay, sa locker OR mauubos within the first week dahil sa kakahingi ng mga PARASITE na classmates)

- Sharpeners (na hinihiram at ninenok ng mga pasaway)

-AND MOST ESPECIALLY NOTEBOOKS

Notebooks nowadays come in various designs. Kung girly-girly and/or malandi ka, you'll get the pink/ purple/ notebook with various girly themes.

Kung emo ka, swak na swak naman yung mga black colored na notebooks na may skull, or si Spongebob na naka-god knows what its called hairstyle

Kung normal at conformist naman, you'll probably opt for the official school notebook with the school logo in front.

Kung college ka naman, more or less, parehas lang nung mga naunang nabanggit. Dagdag mo na nga rin lang yung mga filler-type notebooks with matching DONG-A Gel Pen....

Marami na akong mga memorable na notebooks na nagamit. Pero ang pinaka memorable para sa akin, yung set ng notebooks ko na front cover yung mga artista.

Dont be shy... Aminin nyo na.... One time or another, sumulat kayo sa ganun klaseng notebook.

I hated and loved this notebook. I loved this set of notebook, particularly the Donna Cruz front cover kasi this showed me na kahit na gaano kahirap ang buhay namin noon, our parents still strove na mabigay ang lahat ng kelangan namin para sa education. Natch!

Kaka-retire lang ni erpats sa Unilever nung magsimula yung pasukan. Naubos ata ang pera nyang sa pagbayad sa tuition namin (mahal pa naman ang tuition namin sa elementary school ko.) Sa pagkakaalam ko, yun yung pinaka down moments ng Maghirang family. Nagawan nila ng paraan yung mga notebooks and books (heck pati yung uniforms nagawan ng paraan!)

I hated those notebooks dahil jologs, baduy, panget, panget ang composition, panget yung artista sa harap. Being a kid, insensitive ako sa mga nangyayari sa paligid. Di ko alam na magkanda kuba kuba na ang mga magulang ko para lang may magamit ako. Inuna ko pa maasar dahil si Donna Cruz, Manilyn Reynes, Janno Gibbs at Dingdong Avanzado yung mga nasa notebook ko.

I hated this notebook dahil bawat page nitong Donna Cruz notebook na to, nakikita ko na talagang bobo ako sa Math.

I loved History, English, Science and recess. Ibigay mo na kahit anong subject, wag lang math. And di nakatulong na hindi ko trip yung notebook na gamit ko para sa math.

Later on, I learned to love these notebooks, yes, even the Donna one. I realized na pinaghirapan ang pambili sa notebook na yun. Dun napaparamdam ng magulang ko na mahalaga ang education sa buhay ko, at kahit na gaano kahirap ang buhay, kelangan naming matapos ang pagaaral dahil yun lang ang maipagmamalaki namin sa buhay (noon.)

Because of this notebook, I realized also that I was dumb when it came to Math. But being weak when it comes to math isnt the end of everything. I did finish that particular schoolyear but I still sucked bad (which later factored in me pursuing a degree in Communication.)

I loved that notebook because of the things I learned from it.
