Guess Who's Back on X-Men Legacy

The Children of the Vault may have gotten their heads kicked in during the "Supernovas" arc by Mike Carey and Chris Bachalo but they vowed revenge against Marvel's merry mutants, The X-Men, sometime soon, especially after the death of their leader, Sangre back in X-Men # 188 - 199...

Mike Carey's works is once again the book's main selling point. Effectively writing Rogue in scenes together with former paramour Magneto in a mission in India makes you long for those old books illustrated by Jim Lee.

The team dynamics and who see brings along is also a great part of the reading experience for X-Men Legacy.

Tagging along with Rogue and Magneto are Loa and Anole as well as the peaceful Paras who has been summoned back home. (Apparently to be married off to a complete stranger.) They meet a girl who may or may not be another mutant and take down a bunch of Sentinels trying to catch her.

Turns out she's apparently part of the Children of the Vault, a group of post human race developed somewhere in Ecuador as a part of a twisted experiment. Luz as she wants to be called has the power to control light (sort of like Dazzler with a bit more artistic flare.)

In one of the scenes, Magneto asks Rogue to check on the location of the Children of the Vault's new city, to the disgust of the latter. She then lands a solid punch on Magnus....

Poor poor Max. After joining the X-Men he turns from great and legendary mutant visionary to being relegated to Rogue's whipping boy....

Things also heat up for Paras and Luz as they share a short yet passionate kiss before getting "almost caught" by the returning Magneto and Rogue.

And then their opponents finally reveal themselves...

The Monthlies: X-Men Legacy Annual

Rogues Looks Really nice. And the story even looks better thanks to the art of Daniel Acuna. I really like how Mike Carey builds off his stories from whatever happens in Uncanny. He's a perfect compliment to Matt Fraction's work.

Emplate is back. What the heck does he want? And where the heck has been???

I just miss the fact that Rogue won't be able to fight like what she used to. She was the Blue Strike team's muscle before. I wish they had her strength and flight stay....

But we can't all get our request right?
