Superman for 2013 - Tony Daniel
I'm already gearing up for the impending changes and shakeups in the Superman books post H'el on Earth and pre-Man of Steel. Most importantly, I'm looking forward to seeing Tony Daniel's provide great art for the Action Comics brand.

Batman and Nightwing Set to Appear in Smallville Season 11
Writer Bryan Q. Miller speaks out about the upcoming appearance of a certain caped crusader in the pages of Smallville Season 11.
According to the interview, Batman's appearance will be entitled "Detective" and will bring the Dark Knight into Metropolis due to a certain someone having a connection with the murder of Batman's parents decades ago.
Along for the ride is fan-favorite Stephanie Brown more famous for being the female Robin. However, Miller ditches the Robin duds for a bigger role as Nightwing. Yes, you read it right, Nightwing.. The same name that Dick Grayson picks out after his estrangement and falling out with Bruce Wayne.

First Look: Mark Millar and Leinil Yu's Superior
Mark Millar and Leinil Yu's new character SUPERIOR has made his first appearance in the cover of Wizard Magazine.

Okay, so its official that Superior is following the Captain Marvel/ Superman archetype while Millar's other character is running loose (together with Steve McNiven), Nemesis (who also happens to be like Batman, only more offensive and sadistic)
Are we going to see a team-up between Superior and Nemesis anytime soon?

21st Century Reinvention of Superman
J.Michael Straczynski and Shane Davis will be working together to publish a new take on Superman and what makes him the Man of Steel.
To tell you guys honestly, I wasnt really a full fledged fan of JMS. But that was before Thor. Yeah, so maybe his run on Amazing Spiderman gave us creeps like Morlun or forgettable stories like "Sins Past" where we find out that Gwen Stacy was actually impregnated by Norman Osborn and that they sired NINJA KIDS (I kid you not, if your unfamilair to that particular mythos.)
But then again, JMS has given us a lot of good things. He gave sci-fi fans Babylon 5 (Waaaay before the BSG remakes kids.) He made Thor suchs a wonderful albeit, late read. He also rewrote the script for the recently shown Ninja Assassin (What is it with him and Ninjas?)
So now, as a solid fan of JMS, I'm really psyched to read the graphic novels from DC Comics' Earth One line of books.
Plus did I mention that the Batman books will be scripted by Geoff Johns with art by Gary Frank.

Review: Superman Batman : Public Enemies
Perfection is the key word for this particular animated feature from DC.
The premise is simple. Lex Luthor has become the president of the United States. He helps America's recovery and establishes a metahuman response team to help in restoring order. The crew includes Powergirl, Major Force, Captain Atom, Starfire and Black Lightning.

Now a meteor made of kryptonite has been spotted hurling towards Earth and Luthor asks Superman to help in disposing of the meteor. However, the problem is that Superman does not want to help because Luthor would hog all the glory. In short he's got ulterior motive.
And because of their conflicting interest, Luthor wants Superman and Batman gone.

Now for the new ones, this was the very first arc of Jeph Loeb's Superman/ Batman books. The other three books were Supergirl, Absolute and Vengeance. (Personal note, I still think these were some of the best "new" books that Loeb came up with before the death of his son, Sam.)

So what did I think of this particular animated feature? It was great. It was faithful to the source material (with alterations that were necessary for the drama. Some elements such as the Kingdom Come Superman making an appearance and the "death" and return of Captain Atom were taken out but did not hurt the story.) The popular voice actors for these characters were also taken back for this project.
Kevin Conroy is still Batman, Clancy Brown is still Lex Luthor and Tim Daly is still Superman. Also if your looking for Bruce Timm's participation, well your in luck, the venerated producer plays the voice of Solomon Grundy (which has several lines now, it's like Stan Lee's appearance in every Marvel movie.)

Several qualms were the settings and disappearance of quirky elements such as the face off between Batman and Luthor which results in the toppling of Lexcorp towers, and Hawkman's dialogue about what he used in taking out Superman.
This is definitely a must buy DVD for me.

Superman/ Batman : Public Enemies - Maquette

Now these are fine pieces of art. I wonder how much they would cost?
I even wonder how much the original DVD would be worth (including shipping and handling.)
I do not want to buy the local pirated stuff nor get it online. That's my way of saying thanks to Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuiness for this wonderful story arc!

Wanted: Ed McGuiness DC Figures
Ed McGuiness has got to be one of the top talents in the industry. I admired his work during his run with current Hulk conspirator Jeph Loeb because of the dynamic and very manga-ish art style.
I also admired his style because it was uber-easy to imitate (and later on color). That was during my stint at school. But now that im a working geek, with money to burn, I wanted to collect the ultimate DC collection of Ed McGuiness.
So far my top picks are:
